The 2016 Dahlonega Literary Festival will take place March 12 &13, but planning has already begun. Interested in hearing about the opportunities to get involved with the 2016 festival? Our steering committee will be hosting our annual kick-off reception later this summer. Want to help plan the 2016 festivities? Curious about volunteering for the day of the festival? Then this is your chance to get involved. These gatherings are the open to anyone interested in assisting the festival in any way. We encourage you to come and to bring your friends!
The kick-off reception will take place Friday, August 21st, 5:30-7:30pm ET, at the United Community Bank in Dahlonega, GA.

The Dahlonega Literary Festival is excited to announce the addition of three more writers to our line-up. Ed Devos, Dr. Anne B. Jones, and Ellen Hunter Ulken will be joining the festival this year in our Regional Writers section. We are pleased to announce that we’ve added two more authors to our featured author line-up for the 2014 Dahlonega Literary Festival. Joining us will be bestselling author Susan M. Boyer, whose new book, Lowcountry Bombshell, is now available. Also attending is sci-fi writer Michael Bishop, author of Brittle Innings.
We are very pleased to announce that novelist Terry Kay will be returning to the Dahlonega Literary Festival this March. Kay was our keynote speaker for the 2011 festival and we’re excited to have him back! His latest book, The Seventh Mirror, was released just this month.
Also joining our list of featured authors is Southern Women Fiction writer, Kim Boykin. Boykin’s new book, The Wisdom of Hair, is now available for purchase.
Two new authors have been added to our festival line-up. We are happy to announce that festival veteran William Rawlings, author of A Killing on Ring Jaw Bluff will be returning this year. He and all of our other wonderful authors will be joined by newbie, Susan Lindsley, author of Susan Myrick of Gone With The Wind.
We are pleased to announce that we have added new authors to the 2014 line-up! Illustrator and DLF Veteran Mark Braught will once again grace us with his presence. Science fiction and fantasy writer Alex Hughes will also be in attendance at this year’s festival. We are also excited that Joshilyn Jackson will be returning this year! Jackson’s new book, Someone Else’s Love Story, is set partially in Dahlonega.
It’s shaping up to be an exciting and entertaining festival!
Due to the unceasing bad weather, we were forced to cancel the 4th of July Used Book Sale. We apologize to those who came out to see us despite the rain to find nothing but parking lots. But fear not! We will be rescheduling it and having it sometime this fall.
